Re: M&E keyless flute - Ebonite vs. Polymer

I really appreciate all the input from everyone who posted. I feel good about the ebonite for the M&E flute, it sounds like pretty great stuff! I also appreciate all the info on the Casey Burns flute, so I'll keep thinking about what I want there. I will get in touch with Casey directly when I'm...

Re: M&E keyless flute - Ebonite vs. Polymer

Akiba, thanks for the info on your Casey Burns. I am going to go with the M&E ebonite for now, but I had a couple more questions on the Burns flute for later on. (One of the reasons I've been putting that one off, is because there are so many choices, & not being able to see these in person,...

Re: M&E keyless flute - Ebonite vs. Polymer

You're not a bit late, & I really appreciate hearing what you had to say, as well as all of these posts. I think I will go with the M&E ebonite now, and then when I'm ready for a wooden flute, I know I'll want a Casey Burns. I just need to decide on which one. I live in Dallas, Texas, & ...

Dixon Low D Whistles - 3 piece vs 2 piece

I've read a number of posts that strongly recommend the Dixon 3-piece over the 2-piece when speaking of the flute - but what about the Low D whistle? If I were only buying the Dixon Low D whistle, is the 3-piece still the better one? When I try to look at people playing them on Youtube, it looks lik...

Re: M&E keyless flute - Ebonite vs. Polymer

Thanks so much for the replies, everyone. I was originally torn between a Casey Burns & the M&E, but for now wanted the M&E so as not to worry about the care of a wooden flute - plus, with the Burns flute I'd want, it would be more than I could afford at this time. I liked the idea of th...

M&E keyless flute - Ebonite vs. Polymer

I am about to purchase an M&E keyless flute, but I'm torn whether to buy the Polymer model, or the newer Ebonite one. Is there anyone who has played both that can tell me the pros/cons to each? Thanks so much for your help.

FS: Burke Brass Session D Whistle SOLD

Selling my Burke Brass Session D Whistle (wide bore). Purchase in Dec. 2009, & have only played it a few times around the house. Very nice whistle with lovely tone, but realized it plays a bit too loudly for my current level. Asking $150, which includes case & also shipping to any of the 48 ...

Re: Age-old question: Chieftain or Goldie?...

In reading your post, I felt like I could have written it! I noticed you're from Dallas, so it sounds like you were at the North Texas Irish Festival. I too went to the Hobgoblin booth & played their low whistles for a good hour & a half. Only difference is, I did buy one. :-) I was torn for...
