Clearing out the rest of my flutes and whistles!
Hi everyone! I used to be an active member of this forum quite a few years back. I still play the whistle and flute on occasion, but I still have way to many misc instruments that I never play. I would rather see them go to someone who has more time to play. http://i67.tinypic.com/2a0i8ih.jpg Tipple...

FS: Thinning out my collection (Tipple, Susato, Bracker++)
Hello everyone, long time no see! I used to be somewhat active on this forum a few years ago. I have since then finished college and gotten a "real job", which sadly doesn't leave too much time for flute and whistle playing. I find that what little time I have for music, is spent mostly pl...

FS: Ebonite M&E 6 keyed flute
I bought this flute from another chiff member just before christmas. I bought it because I wanted to improve my playing with the use of keys. I have found however that the little spare time I have, is spent playing my low whistles and practising other instruments(guitar, piano etc). I simply can't j...

Re: A Jewish Lament on Youtube
I haven't played an Optima low D, but I do own a low E. It's a very nice whistle. The top few notes of the second octave are rather hard to control, but other than that I enojoy playing it.

Re: ITM band in the People's Republic of China ...
The videos work for me, but they just load really slow. I just pressed "play" and then "pause" and let it load for a while before watching. Lots of nice tunes, thanks for posting!

Re: First recording with my new Löfgren low Eb whistle
To get back to why I said that, afraid I'm still hearing it as a bit jolly... nothing wrong with it musically (and you clearly love the tune), but sadly (!) still too jolly for Hector the Hero for me. I do get what you mean. The first version I heard of "Hector the Hero" was from the play...

Re: First recording with my new Löfgren low Eb whistle
Thanks, Cayden. And yes, you are right Peter. I just now changed the description. I just called it a waltz since I play it in 3/4. There are many rendations of this tune around today, but it seems the original was actually written to be played in 6/8.

Re: my new performence 《the south wind》
Wow, marvelous performance Cai-shao-yang! I really like the tone of the chieftain NR low D. I've always prefered it to the newer V3 version.
(To others listening: It starts of with just the backing track. Whistle comes in at around 00.45)

First recording with my new Löfgren low Eb whistle
I aquired a löfgren low Eb a few weeks ago. It plays and feels similar to overton/goldie whistles, but has it's own wonderful tone. I don't really showcase the second octave much in this recording, so perhaps I'll post a quick video playing some scales later. The tune is a slow version of "Ride...

Re: Löfgren low G
You might wanna resize the picture a bit. The whistle looks nice. If I didn't already own a goldie low G I'd definately get one. I received my löfgren low Eb a couple of weeks ago. Love playing it. Feels similar to goldies whistles, but has its own characteristic sound. I'll post a video of me playi...
