Yes! Actually I'm trying to figure out which song has the rauschepfife in it.
If you've heard any corvus Corax, I know they play shawms as well, which is what started me searching for them.

It's not that I'm playing that makes him wince, its just because most of my whistles (excepting the Bb) are too shrill and bright... He's a musician, its not really the volume that bothers him. I don't think I'm going to be in the market for a Racket, its hard to even find a soundclip of the instrum...

Thank you all for the information! The reason I ask is because I've just become fascinated with historical woodwinds.... I love the tinwhistle, don't get me wrong :) I'm just looking to branch out a little bit. (That, and my husband winces anytime I play my whistle, unless its my Bb) Theres a specif...

Other instruments (Don't throw things at me please!)

Hi! A little word of advice, as I remember having issues too.... When in doubt, it never hurts to try more whistles! When I first started playing I couldnt stop squawking and thought I was completely hopeless..... It was actually my whistle. Granted my playing isnt all that great, but different whis...

Bald mountain I've heard of, and I know of Catskill Moccs too. They are at NYRF :) I plan on getting a pair once I satisfy my insatiable garb addiction. I think thats a great idea! Line the cloak with whistles! Put them in your boots! Strap them to your legs with Garters! Pockets on the calves of pa...

This might sound silly... Hell, it's the whistle board. But what type of garb are you wearing? Pants? Slops? Kilt? I have an idea, an idea, an idea that may just help. Unless you -are- wearing a kilt, then the idea is kind of void and not useful at all. I was going to say, if you are wearing a pair ...

I was thinking (when I was actually going to be making them) of using buttons, straps and buckles.... If one used strapping/buckles you could easilly feed your belt through the back, so that the case would sit at your lower back.... Or... if the case was thin enough... one could make Whistle garters...

Interestingly enough, I found something shockingly similar to the case I was babbling about while searching for something else completely.

I have taken my whistles to faire, (In my boot also!) but never wind up being brave enough to actually play. I was working on a whistlers bag a while back. The thing was mostly a big pocket, with little sections sewn in there to hold individual whistles. You could then roll it up and tie it c...

:x "Learn to play a new song, for the love of god!" :o "That thing is killing my ears... look! The cat just tried to commit Sepukku!" With the move, I'm afraid that my whistles are well packed.... now, why I packed my whistles, I cant begin to tell you. But at the moment, thats w...
