Re: Learning Rolls - but certain notes difficult

D/C/C#?

If that is 2nd-octave D, that be:
D C C#
o o o
x x o
x x o
x o o
x o o
x o o

?

Of course, I just tried to finger and almost dropped my whistle. That c-nat doesn't work on all D whistles, either.

Re: Meet Bob

Day 2 of Bob the Dog The rope tied to my martial arts pell was certainly just a temporary location. Bob, being a lab, needs room to move. And we also needed an easy of removing him from the leash to a walking leash and back. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn12/ngarrang/Bob%20Day%202/BobDay2-3.jp...

Meet Bob

Introducing, Bob the Dog. Xavier named him. We found him abandoned at my mom's house in Preble County. He was obviously tired, thirsty and hungry. Thus, even if he did belong to someone nearby, I considered them a bad owner and have decided to give Bob a home at the Wilson Estate. When your 4-year o...

Yes.

From previous messages, people have added a thumb hole at the top for like a c-natural on D whistles. But what about a thumb hole down 1 whole step?

Just thinking out loud.

Re: F# (F-sharp) hole on Bb whistle?

No, I mean specifically an F# thumb hole. It would be in an odd place compared to most thumb holes, I know.

F# (F-sharp) hole on Bb whistle?

My apologies if this has been asked, but the search facility doesn't recognize "F#" as a valid search term, and no hits for "F-sharp" appeared.

Has anyone added an F# hole to a Bb whistle?

Re: Bluegrass Whistlin'

This is all good information. I was worried that I might be sullying the reputation of the whistle. :) The bluegrass songs I have sheet music for are certainly a lot simpler than much of the Irish music, leaves a lot of space for the previously mentioned improvisation. I don't see myself taking my w...

Re: Dixon vs Syn (Bb-C-D whistles set)

Do not think that you have to limit yourself to just one whistle in each key. As previous posters pointed out, different High D's will sound different. Get a set of Feadogs, Generations, etc. Having a wide selection of whistles will allow you to have a wide selection of sound to choose from. Dependi...
