Sean McKiernan CD
I was browsing the CDs in NPU's shop recently & was surprised to see Sean McKiernan had released a recording. Searching the web for more info, I only found mention of it on a past radio program from Peadar O'Riada. On the cover is "a mhuintir / a chuid chairde" & the CD features tr...

Joey Abarta & Nathan Gourley - full concert. Joey's got a set in C here that I haven't seen before. Anyone know the maker?

I believe Mike McNintch, the smallpipes player, made bellows for Seth Gallagher & still has access to his workshop in NY.

Re: Jackie Daly : RTE, Rolling Wave
Thanks. You've reminded me that I haven't listened to the Rolling Wave in a long time. I used to be subscribed to it as a podcast but I'm seeing now that it only seemed one season was ever uploaded in such a format & the newer episodes don't appear. As an American that sometimes has issues with ...

Re: Beo
https://pipesbanjobouzouki.bandcamp.com/album/beo Thanks for the recommendation. Quick purchase after realizing who's involved. Nice pictures too. I didn't initially see it searching "Beo" on bandcamp either, so I went ahead & ordered it from Custys, but am now seeing it pop up recomm...

Here's two different links to the same files. I don't have an account to any file sharing sites so it may not stay up long. Perhaps there are better sites that Im unaware of

Re: Recording of Michael Carney’s “The Village Grove”?
The more I thought about it the more it made sense for me to include the other tracks I had in the folder as well. Enjoy!

I found a copy that I must have downloaded at some point, although it was labeled 'the village green'. It may be slowed down, but that's how I got it. Hope the site works, let me know if there's a better place to upload

Re: Collection of recordings
I've been enjoying your postings.
I was recently going through odd files on my computer & I came across a radio broadcast of your playing at WCSS 2003. Would you like me to make it available to the board or PM it to you?

Re: Lower regulator notes jumping the octove / squeaking
I had a lot of problems with my low G on the bass when I first got it. I COULD NOT get it to sound. It would either squawk or not sound at all. I was still new to the regs in general & I remember mentioning it to my pipemaker who was watching me struggle with it. He tied the set on & played ...

I believe Martin McIntyre is based in Donegal. Seen a few pipers playing his sets recently; Robbie Hannan's C set, Paul Harrigan, Brian Stafford in the NPU 'piping from the parlour' video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntAy8utqUTM&list=RDntAy8utqUTM&start_radio=1 Is this Cormac's Egan set? I thought I had heard it was a Cnat. I wish there were better recordings of it. Most of what I've come across of it are the live videos on NPU Was it meant to be a left handed chanter? htt...

Re: Legato playing
No, the difference of air needed between the two styles wouldn't be significant. I would guess the two biggest possibilities would be either bad technique or your set is needing too much air to play properly. If it is just a practice set you should be loosing next to no air while putting pressure on...

No, the airs & the dance music are written out the same. It has the staff notation of the tune but under each note is written the corresponding letter. Variations within the tunes are written out as singular bars below. It's just like the notations in his "Music for the Irish Pipes" bo...

Re: Cape Cod Cloth?
My set has boxwood mounts & brass. Just the other day I realized the chanter mounts are developing green rings around the outer most extended parts of them, possibly from being stored up against the brass on the drones. The brass itself is a bit tarnished but not green. I'm not too worried about...
