Whistling in the wind

A meteoralogical music question...Why is it so hard, if not impossible to play the whistle in a strong wind? At least the times I have tried to I get little to no sound. How fast must the wind be to make it hard to play? What are the physics that cause the dissapearing sound?

Re: need a whistle

Yes, I think I can help you here. You went to a candy store not a music shop. I think that what you have there is very much like "Toot Sweet" the musical candy invented by Dick Van Dyke in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Never go shopping for whistles untill you have had a candy bar at home or yo...

Re: Digital Tradition Mirror Site Down/ Looking For Xmas Tabs

Guru, funny you should mention graphic skills, as that is what I do for a living, but your conceptualization makes sense to me as you have described it. My ability to put concept into practice however remains dubious, regardless, thanks for the hints, links and your indulgence.

Digital Tradition Mirror Site Down/ Looking For Xmas Tabs

Once located here http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/ This site had all the songs from Mudcat's Digital Tradition data base, and there were thousands, this site however had among other things pennywhistle tabs for every song. The site is not affiliated with mudcat and was there just because th...
