That was Safari on MacOs being 'helpful'. I only bought it for the screen, and it won't easily 'take' a linux boot.

Re: Halvesies.

I used exactly the same technique to make a whistle case. It was stuck together with Ava glue and has remained firmly fixed for more than five years. Best guess is that the timber is spell - but I cannot be sure as it was salvaged from a bookcase. I do not have a lathe and so rounded it by hand with...

Re: Do flautists suffer less from the wind than low whistlers?

So my suspicions were possibly right.... thanks. That is an added benefit to flutes for me. I like those pictures of marching whistle bands - they must sound awesome. Is this just wishful thinking, or is outdoor flue playing more practical than outdoor low whistle playing? Of course the low whistle d...

Re: The perrenial question

Hi DrPhil You can swap heads between your whistle and your flute and both will still work. The low D is effectively a small holed RR body with a whistle head. I tried swopping bodies with a young friend (me whistle and him flute) and they worked perfectly. David Thanks, I had suspected as much thou...

Re: The perrenial question

Update: Well, after doing some searching and some enquiring I failed to find a GLP this side of the pond - and I balked at giving the UK government almost 25% of the purchase price (they would only spaff it on their friends). I tried plan B and bought-on-trial a flute from Phil Bleazey. I have not s...
