https://www.wetootwaag.com https://blarneypilgrims.fireside.fm https://podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/fire-draw-near/id1532286691 Jeremy's podcast is more historic tunes in the bagpiping repertoire, very interesting and I love how he digs into different versions of the same tunes. Blarney Pilgrims a...

Re: What is the History of Pakistani Uilleann pipes?

I have done a fair bit of research in this area so hoping to clear some bits up: The first Pakistan made pipes I saw were around the late nineties. They were very similar to the work of Robbie Hughes from around that time. I have no idea what the connection was or if Robbie tried to help them out, b...

Made in Pakistan chanter review

I’ve put together a little video on YouTube comparing a Made in Pakistan chanter with the chanter I started with. I tried to give something of an unbiased opinion and looked at a few different reed combos to see how it played. I know this is something of a hot topic on these forums so happy to remov...

Ringtunes: Classic Ringtones performed on the Uilleann Pipes

Hi everybody, it being the first of April it seemed fitting to release something I've been working on for a while: a short EP of classic ringtones on an old historic set of pipes. I was inspired by the old descriptive pieces and wanted to do a modern take on it. Ringtunes is 100% free, so download, ...

Re: Reg reeds

Check for any tiny leaks first. Anywhere in the set can give you that octave jump. Then check you’ve not too much tuning stuff up the bore, or lumped around one of the tone holes. If that fails then you could open the reed up a bit but that might throw the balance off and make them flat or harder to...

Re: Found a new old set of pipes (Coyne)---who restores/ makes reed for them

I love hearing about old sets being rediscovered. Best of luck getting the set restored. On a side note, there was more than one Coyne making pipes in Dublin if I recall correctly. Didn't Maurice's son continue the business for a while? There was at least two, perhaps three Coynes. This article is ...

Re: Ebay Items

Not Leo, looks very similar to the work that Leon made to fill the back orders. Bellows and stocks were stamped Leo still but in the same unfinished wood as this one. I'd put money on it being a Leon set. Still not bad but rather crude, even compared to Leo's 'student' sets.

Re: Question about Fred Morrison UPs

Dave William's regs were based on the Paddy Keenan Crowley set. As Fred's set was a copy of Paddy's Williams set then I assume these new McCallums are the same.
