Maybe you clicked too slowly. Have you considered that?

it sits in your outbox until the recipient opens it, I believe.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

If you've been clicking your send button a lot, I'm beginning to suspect why they might be slow to read it..mutepointe wrote:Is there something up with that? I click the send button.

You didn't specify if this is this every private message you send, or just maybe one or so. Naturally I'm guessing the latter, but someone should ask anyway.mutepointe wrote:why does it takes days, weeks even for a PM to leave my box?
In the case of people not opening messages, there are two main scenarios that come to mind:
1) The recipient is new to the boards and hasn't yet noticed the notification that there is a message for him/her. That happened to me as a recipient when I was new here.
2) The recipient is a member who is either not that present, or generally doesn't log in every time s/he reads the Chiffboards (whenever they do stop by for a read). You can't see a personal notification without logging in. Related to this, the recipient could be just a "drive-by", as we call it. A wave and a hello, and then it's toodle-oo Chiffers, it's been grand but I must be gone now and on my way to elsewhere bump my Google ratings. Have a nice life, all.
With the above, basically the best guess is they don't know they have messages, either because they don't or can't see that they have them when they're here, or not here, in which case, well...they're not here. Guess that's what the emails are for.
Okay, three scenarios, then.Denny wrote:but they can see who it is from

I will choose to believe that people are preparing themselves to read a message from moi.

Re: why does it takes days, weeks even for a PM to leave my box?
Umm, if this was me, I have an excuse . . . and I'm very sorry . . . but I had several PMs at once and thought I was just seeing the same one. Almost nobody PMs me, so having more than one at that time, and having already answered a couple, I got confused.
That PM indicator thing isn't in my line of vision when I'm on the board, either.
And one night, I fell asleep and accidentally erased all my email, eliminating any PM notices.
Now I'm worried that I never answered at all.

You were one of a few people who delayed in opening up a recent pm's. This happened once before. I thought a pattern was developing or something. I rarely pm anyone. I'm just glad it wasn't a problem that was my fault.
I'm still working on that pm to you Denny, you keep getting ready. What color are you now?
