Are they played in the home key or cross-key?
For example if the box is in C do they only play in C or is it customary to play in a cross-key like G mixolydian (G scale with an f natural)?
Also does anyone know of any good online resources for studying Cajun-style accordion?
Thanks,
Aldon

Re: Questions about Cajun accordion.
If you have a Cajun accordion in C you will play in C, G(mixolydian), and for F you just have to ignore the fact you don't have a Bb, and avoid playing the B. The only online resource that starts from the beginning is this...

I also recommend buying Dirk Powell's dvd's, they are very usefull when you are first starting out.
