Hi, can you guide me with attaching images to my posts for used instr. for sale? I'm not seeing any obvious attachment buttons in my control panel or on the post itself...

You can't attach an image, but you can link to an image that is elsewhere on the net. This is a two-stage operation.
There are a lot of third-party servers which offer free image hosting. One I use is Image Shack, because I don't have register or remember a login and password. I go to this link, click the 'choose' button to select a file on my computer, and click the 'upload now' button.
Once it uploads, the site gives me a few options for format code to copy. I generally select the "Direct Link", although other options include smaller thumbnails with embedded links to the big pic.
What I look for looks like this:
