I guess that if you can't get what you want you just have to fix it yourself!

I would say it's somewhere between airy and reedy. I had no idea of this till I got a Burke and played it next to a Water Weasel. Both are somewhat pure of sound, but the Burke is breathier and the WW is chiffier.

I suspect that everyone has a different picture (actually sound clip) in his mind of what chiff is.

Oh, and I wouldn't call recorders, at least not the ones in this house, "pure". Once you get to an alto or tenor recorder, it gets quite chiffy. (Don't worry, I can't play them; my wife does, and she wants one of those sub-contrabass recorders that was discussed a few months ago.)

I recorded my workshop basswhistle, made in 2004 on Youtube recently.

I wonder if Dr. Seuss where still alive that he might like this basswhistle.

Here are my Low-Low-D's

Here's a basswhistle I made for Cal olson.

Another one:

And here is the first basswhistle made back in 2002, Low-Low-C

Don't that subcontrabass ruffle your feather though, we can't outdone by a R*C*DR!
Sounds like a summer project is in order.

That's just too weird!
Could only happen in France

Hey Dale, maybe a new write-up for psychology manuals, a whole new world a whistle obsessives, size displaces quantity.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

That's it... no more beef for me. I hear a certain Fast-Food store is incorporating it into their next commercial. Parachuting cows into a football stadium while playing the Beef-Pipes.

Oh. My. God.

That is wild. Just when you think you've seen everything...
The Walrus

What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?

The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

There are two well-known thingies in moscow kremlin - tzar-bell and tzar-cannon. They're the biggest ones of a kind. The bell never rang and the cannon never shot.

Do you really want to make a tzar-whistle?
