Is anyone else having trouble with the forum on Firefox?

Post by azw »

Recently I've had trouble using the forum with Firefox. This is the only site I've had the trouble with. I have a phpBB2 forum which has worked fine.

I can always get in with IE, but often get blank pages (HTML is completely empty, too) or an error message that says something about "502 Bad Gateway". This happens when I click on links to topics or even forums in the C&F forum.

Does anyone know what's up?

Yeah, but it's a server issue and not just Firefox, I think.

Thanks! I'm still having problems, but now it's always the blank page. I no longer get the 502's. I've left a message over at the PS Pub about this.

"502 Bad Gateway"
I only get this lovely message when trying to post a new reply. Thinking I need to repost, I'll do so and in the end all two messages show anyway. So there's a lot of nerve and deleting involved. :sniffle:

Strangely enough this phenomenon only happens on the "chiff & fipple"-board. One of the German boards I'm usually frequenting looks exactly the same, but it never happens there...

I'll probably never understand the wonders that are computers and the science that entails them.

I had that happen too, but it was last week. It's not happening to me now.

When was the last time that happened for you?

Yesterday. About two days ago it was so bad I couldn't even access the forum for about 30 minutes. - Blank page. :sniffle:
Strangely enough it worked all right with the Internet Explorer. It really seems to be a Firefox problem.

It's interesting that it happened during the period after which it started working for me. I haven't had trouble since Friday Oct 3. It'd be nice to hear a report about what's going on.

In case you didn't find it, for some reason there's a longer thread about this problem here:

Thanks to Fearfaoin for pointing that out to me!
It's too bad there are two threads about the same problem and they're in such different areas of C&F. That really should have been moved to this category so people can find it easier.

:o :o This place is haunted!!!

I haven't seen this error message for some days now. Seems my browser progressed to blank page status.

Thanks for posting the link for the other thread.
