yup...the presentation thingie don't do multiple white space...

You could put spacers like dashes or periods and then color them white. Since they show just a little bit on the blue/silver background, you could put them on either side to make it look symmetrical and intentional.

I've been taking to using spacer images that are included in phpBB
There are two ways to do this. One is to use HTML tags to give the
spacer a width, which will put in that many pixels of blank space:

Of course, how this looks to each user depends on the width of the
font their browser uses.

My preferred method (which uses way more text, but gives more
reliable results) is to put a spacer gif after every space. This
preserves all the spaces (like a &nbsp; in HTML):
