CHAT

Post by I.D.10-t »

Does someone have a list of commands for chat?

Like how to end politely give an @ etc.

A link would be great.

It may be a learning experience for both of us then.

Well maybe.

End Politely: Say goodnight and then type /quit.

Give an @: Type /op nick. Replace nick with what the person is using.

Change your name: Type /nick newname. Replace newname with what you want to use.

Render someone invisible to you, although others can still see them: Type /ignore nick. Replace nick with the name they are using.

Kick someone out: Type /kick nick. Replace nick with the name they are using.

That's all I can remember right now.

If you google for "internet relay chat" or something like that, you'll find lists of commands. They change depending on the software you're using to access chat.

"/me" is used to perform custom "actions" in a chat room. For instance, if I typed:

/me likes cheese!

Everyone would get, in a different colored lettering:

"Congratulations likes cheese!"
oh Lana Turner we love you get up

Cool, thanks all!

Can you un-ignore?

Thinking of going to chat and ignoring myself as a test.
(Okay not really, that would be rude.)

Off to google.

(knowing what to search for is a great help)
