Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Tell us something.: I've been with Chiff and Fipple since shortly after I bought my first low D. I've learned loads from this community, and I intend to continue to learn and contribute. Many thanks to Dale and everyone who makes this site happen.

You're an absolute gem, Dale! I've recently picked up the mandolin and am loving it. Still give plenty of time to my whistles, but am glad to see a forum dedicated to the strings ...

Best,

Sorry. Lost my grip for a moment, there. Great idea, this forum, and thanks. Being a backup player, myself, I think that discussion on the subject is a good thing, particularly since backup playing has worked its way into what's called traditional music in Irish terms, and ain't likely to go away. Some stuff works, and some doesn't, and discussion in this regard might be very helpful, particularly to those getting their feet wet, I think.

Don't grovel! If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people grovelling.

I have to undergo a paradigm shift. Will a joyful noise do, then?

Doh, that was me. How come it let me post as "guest"?

This is great! I was just about to go to the ITM forum with some questions when I saw this forum in the list.
