How do you pronounce "Feadog"?
I'm looking to get one at my local music store and I don't want to sound like an idiot mispronouncing it

FATH-ogue. "A" pretty much as in "rat", "TH" as in "that" but more like a D, "ogue" as in "rogue". That's as close as you can get with English equivalents.stratochicnic wrote:I'm looking to get one at my local music store and I don't want to sound like an idiot mispronouncing it
I'll bet your music store clerk doesn't know how to pronounce it, either. Dollars to doughnuts you'll hear, "Oh, you mean "FEE-dog"!

Nano's right. You can't win - if you choose the Irish pronunciation they'll do the "Oh, you mean "FEE-dog" thing, while if you say "fee-dog" you can bet the store assistant will be fluent in Gaelic. :roll:Nanohedron wrote:...I'll bet your music store clerk doesn't know how to pronounce it, either. Solution 1) Point and say: "I want that one". (For those of you in the UK, this should be delivered in the voice of Andy Pipkin from Little Britain.)
Solution 2) Get it mail order.
And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

'Strato' --> Abbreviation of the Fender Stratocaster
