I am selling a Patrick Olwell six-key D flute. Flawless cocus wood. Fancy wide rings. Silver-capped tenons. Silver keys. Flute is perfect in every way. Not a scratch or blemish on the flute. Not a single knot. It has not yet acquired the dark brown patina that cocus develops over the years, but is still a lovely reddish- brown. Comes in a brand new Northwind case.
This was Olwell's flute for the past year or so, and was destined to be a Birthday Flute until life required otherwise. The Birthday Flute is the once a year eBay offering of Olwell’s own flute, one that he works on, refining it, over the year. These have sold on average for about $11,000.
Jem Moore's gold-keyed cocus flute sold in the neighborhood of $15,000. This flute is selling for significantly less than that. Over the next few years its value will appreciate greatly as both cocus and Patrick become harder to find.
