My very old and dear friend Joe Smith (a.k.a. Mr. Gurglesnort) has passed away yesterday.

Sorry to hear that.

We had talked in the past, I think I sent him some old recordings, Felix Doran I believe. One of his last posts on this forum was a call for me to talk to him. I got very selfconcious being called out like that, out of the blue and in public. I wondered why he didn't just send a message and waited for him to make a move, which he didn't. I never found what that was about.

Tell us something.: I am interested in various forms of traditional and folk music. I've been interested in Uilleann pipes for many years. And now I'm finally learning them!

My condolences.
I never had the chance to interact with him personally, but I learned from his posts when reading through older threads.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Others seemed to have trouble reeding my Ginsburg C chanter, but for Joe it was a snap. We have lost a wizard.

Rest in peace, Joe.
