Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

Now, that interesting.
Charlie, please, can you tell us the name on the other pieces of the flute?
Do I read "Pearson London" from the picture?

I think we have here a Frankenflute. Serial numbered section may be the only Rudall part.

"Thomas Pearson, 36 Bishopgate Within, London" NLI.

Music and music instrument seller. 1859 - 1891.

Possibly an instrument made in collaboration with "Rudall and Rose" but the flute dates from nearer 1830.

Has obviously been played up until recently so could be good to go.

The key cups on the lower body joint look to be slightly shallower than those on the upper body. The pewter plugs on the foot joint look a bit "clunkier" than your standard Rudall.
Probably an amalgamation.

There is a Thomas Pearson boxwood 8 key flute in the Dayton C Miller collection.

I will post other images now I know how to do it.

Am I being silly to sell this for £1200 if so who to sell it to and through?

I am at work at the moment and the flute is at home so can take another photo in 6 hours.
thank you all again.

I'm pretty sure from the photo that only the top joint with the serial number is actually a Rudall. All the other joints are from a different (Pearson) flute, with different features. Might be a good match & a good player regardless - some of these parts can work well together (and in some instances, the actual wood turners/suppliers may even have been the same individuals). I think these considerations do mean a likely drop in any resale value (except as a "player" flute).

Once described accurately, with photos, possibly an eBay offering would result in the marketplace determining the ultimate sale price. GBP 1200 might be generous. Here's a Pearson currently being offered on eBay. It's been on offer for quite a long time, yet has remained unsold:
