So, I guess no one does.
How about a delrin flute in the key of 'F' then, are there any?

Dave Copley makes a very nice F flute in delrin.

+1 for the Copley F Delrin. I have one and it's great fun.paddler wrote:Dave Copley makes a very nice F flute in delrin.
Best wishes.

Thanks for the recommendation - but I was hoping to find something around the £150 mark...

Re: Delrin Keyless Flute Key of A?
I've have my eye on an F flute from M&E for a while now. At €200, it's probably your best bet and just a little out of your price range.

Someone may have one that's sitting unused, and may be will to part with it for a little less.

Thanks, bigsciota, that looks like a possible, (about £180), will give it some thought.

- Tell us something.: I've been playing whistles since 2010. I love how varied whistles are in their design, construction, tone, and handling. Though I've largely settled on what I enjoy playing, I'm still a sucker for an interesting new design.

Rob's flutes and whistles are more than your budget, but I thought I might mention that he does make carbon fiber flutes in a variety of keys, including A, if you're just looking for worry free flutation. I haven't played any of them besides my keyless D, but the F looks fun. That's what F stands for. It's the key of Fun.

Well, today, I decided to order up a Tony Dixon Duo in C, it's in aluminium, tunable, with a whistle & a flute head, so I'll see how I get on with it.
(I'll also put in some more practice on my delrin low D too).

Vincenzo di Mauro has recently started making economy delrin flutes, no rings etc to keep done costs. I think they’re around €200. He’s going to make them in different keys. Drop him a line vdmflutes@libero.it

I make them in Blackwood and these can be sealed with a polyurethane sealer if you are worried about cracks etc. Grey Larsen plays one, Matt Molloy and John Skelton play one in Bb. I occasionally offer a 3 piece "Folk Flute version" with a current cost of $600

At the same time? Impressive!Casey Burns wrote: Matt Molloy and John Skelton play one in Bb.
I don’t know for sure, Casey, but I think that OP was talking about “mezzo” or “alto” flutes in A, between a regular D and a piccolo. I believe you’re talking about low flutes. But you make or have made requintas in F and/or G, right? Do you normally offer those?
Re: Delrin Keyless Flute Key of A?
I'm confused...I thought that our D whistle was considered the soprano therefore an alto/mezzo would be lower than that.
At least that's how it works with recorders.
But I'm open to, and willing to be, retrained.

OK...just re-read the whole thing and now realize we're talking about flutes not whistles... I've been practicing too much today and am fried!
My bad!

Re: Delrin Keyless Flute Key of A?
Yes, I was orignally thinking of one in the 'A' below the regular high 'D' (because I liked my two whistles in 'A'),
But I have now bought a Dixon Duo in 'C', (with a Shearwater low 'F' whistle to come).
If I find I like the low 'F', I might still think about getting the one mentioned for about £180, (but it is a bit more than I had hoped for).

Re: Delrin Keyless Flute Key of A?
I've been practising my flute embouchure some more, just lately, & it's coming along quite nicely, so I have decided to put an order in for an M&E 'F' flute next week, (just awaiting the money).
