Whistle Carry Case
I just got a new Burke Brass Narrow Bore D whistle and I am looking for a quality carry case.
Has anyone tried this one?

Re: Whistle Carry Case
There's a very similar one available from Poland, at a better price: here, on ebay. Delivers promptly and at a very reasonable postage.
I have wondered if those things didn't start life as carriers for drumsticks. Though in themself fine, I find them overkill. They're bulky things, especially with the straps and buckles on them. A bit over the top to carry a few whistles in. YMMV but I rarely take away more than one whistle and stick it in a side pocket of the camera bag, the pipes case or carry it in my pocket, if need be in one of those plastic slide cases Dixon whistles used to come in. Whistle cases you can't stick in your pocket, to me, become just another thing to carry and to keep an eye on (they're easy sat on or stolen), extra hassle. Mine stays in a drawer of a filingcabinet, with it's whistles inside and never goes anywhere.
If you want something like that at all, a decent quality cloth/fabric whistle roll, closing with velcro, may be more practical.

Re: Whistle Carry Case
Burke Whistles makes a padded case for a reasonable price and has a belt loop on back for easy carrying.

Killarney Whistles makes a similar pouch.
Or think Pelican pistol case (plastic).
Drumstick case.
Leather sheath or holster.

I got the Pinegrove Leather case for Christmas. It's very nice. Well constructed and does what it is supposed to do.
Re: Whistle Carry Case
Is there a good case suited for low whistles, from mezzo A to baritone C or Bass Bb?

Re: Whistle Carry Case
Hobgoblin sells pouches for various sizes. If you are looking for something harder, plastic poster rolls come in various sizes. If you want to go ballistic, a piece of pvc pipe with a cap on either end is good. Glue one end down and leave one free. I have a thermal bag I carry things in which contains a hard flute case and a hard concertina case so I am moving to a pvc pipe even for my high d, since the weight of the heavy objects tends to crush lighter ones.Chino wrote:Is there a good case suited for low whistles, from mezzo A to baritone C or Bass Bb?

I learned from my dad to make fishing rod cases out of PVC. In addition to an end cap, you can also put a threaded sleeve on the other end with a screw-in cap. Very durable, and I'm sure it would work as well with a flute.

I was on that site the other day and I noticed that all the links lead to a strange site, unrelated to the products on the main site, and is like a dead site. I wonder if they got hacked!
You can play beautiful music on an ugly flute

Re: Whistle Carry Case
Drumstick cases are many and varied: this one has padding and small pockets. a low whistle would have to stick out the top
