I've seen that heart mark before ,but can't quite remember what/where.

Bruce de Vey? Or, on a chanter made by the other 80's make in Yorkshire M.B Wilkins?

Neither fit the apparent initials but..

I dont think they are the makers initials but maybe the former owners . He could have been in the military and got a bad conduct discharge ( bcd} and it broke his heart.

Ref. my last on this post:-

I am now reasonably sure (95%) that it is M.B.Wilkins mark, having thought through events where I have played one of his chanters, and seen a half set.

Let others confirm or otherwise. The chanter was a belter, if a little difficult to reed, but stonking when playing...

I would argue that the most copied in the world would be Kirk Lynch's design (at least the outward appearance), vast numbers of which are available from makers in the northwest corner of the Indian subcontinent. :P
