Thanks for that kind offer. I've asked the owner of the whistle to ship it out to me, and if I can't figure it out I may well take you up on that.

I have a friend that lives 5 minutes away who has a separate D and C metal version if you need any measurements taken with a micrometer.

Paul, I don't know if you're still working on this fipple, but I had a similar but not as drastic a problem. I didn't know where to turn and I remember seeing a whistle review by tinwhistler and he compared the O'Riordan's to David Boisvert's Greenwood whistle. I contacted David and he crafted me a new fipple for my wifes Uncle's O'Riordan's traveller set and subsequently a fipple for a C O'Riordan that I bought online that didn't have a fipple. Both work perfectly. It might be worth giving him a jingle....Unfortunately Pat is no longer available to do work or advise....
