CP: Regulators app for Android

Post by eskin »

It’s been a long time since I mentioned any of my music apps on the board.

For years I’ve had a friend port several of my iOS music apps to Android.

As I’ve been doing some Java work in my "real" job, I decided to learn how to do the ports myself.

This week I finally ported a basic version of my iOS "Regulators" app over to Android:

Regulators - Uilleann Pipes drones and full set of regulators in D:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... regulators

This initial Android version of Regulators is pretty basic (just the key of D, no tuning, no adjacent note pair mode) compared to the iOS version which has all the keys and is tuneable, but hey, it's the Regulators app on Android in the most commonly played key.

Cheers and thanks,

Michael

Another new piping-related app for Android! It's a toy, there is only so much you can do on a phone, but I'd hope you'd get $1.99 of entertainment out of it. :-)

You may now also choose between Lynch and Crowley-style drones.

I got this app today and can't believe how good it is. I do a fair bit of multi instrument recording and I think this will be very useful. A job really well done.

What about Eb?

Joe McKenna, years ago anyhow, got on a thing about higher keys. I've heard recordings of him playing pipes in Eb and E (well it might have been an Eb chanter that happened to be really sharp).

Ironic because for years he played down in C#.

Richard, that's the first time in nearly 10 years anyone asked for Eb on the Regulators app, but if anyone were to ask for it, it would have to be you. :-)

Probably should add F as well. Gabriel used to have an F set for his kids. :-)
