Lovely old whistle footage, big fan too.

Here's two of mine. On the left, Monday 9/15/2014 Nuala Kennedy - The Alt and right 9/18/2014 Kathleen Conneely. Live.

Tell us something.: Hi Nano. I was somewhat active on the Chiffboards maybe 5 or 6 years ago, participating in several whistle tours (Bracker, Hardy, Ellis). I took a break from the Chiffboards, and music mostly, for several years because I got a full-time job and had a baby. I'm easing back into the music, though (which is great, I missed it). It's good to be back!

Zac Leger, bouzouki, and Ben Jaber, pipes (probably the most exciting set I've ever heard):

Flook (listen for the variations in the final repeats where Finnegan takes his Goldie into the third octave):

The Bothy Band (classic!):

Liz Carroll and John Doyle (hard to tell which one makes your jaw drop further):

I'll second that Liz Carroll and John Doyle duel and raise alt.

And then again Nuala.

So I'm a big fan of Nuala's whistling!

Scots Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, and oh yeah, whistles.

Muireann and Julie (if you have to ask "Muireann and Julie who?", you're hopeless):

And don't ask "Mary who?", either:

Bouzouki, guitar, fiddle, button accordion, flute, bodhran, and a whistle. If you think "great bodhran solo" sounds like a punchline, think again. If the whistle player looks familiar, you've probably looked at the first video in this posting.

Danu Solo Set:

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur. (Anything is more impressive if you say it in Latin)

I LOVE THIS! I've been listening to Julie for some time... but Muireann is new for me. I'll be looking up more of her work... Thanks for posting!

Nuala plays Goldies and Sindts. She has a collection, but, I've only seen the Goldies and Sindts.

Nuala plays the whistle off to the side of the mouth and smiles/laughs a lot while playing. I don't see a lot of smiling whistlers.

Here's a "Flook" track I posted a week ago, featuring Cormac Breathnach on whistle. Might be of interest.
