Rochelle Concertina

We have some evidence, however, that you may have to pay for the reeds.

Rochelle Concertina

Post by armuinnamuice »

This concertina looks to be the best one in my price range, but I want to be sure before I buy one. Is it good enough to learn on, or should I wait and buy a more expensive concertina?

Tell us something.: Sets in D and B by Rogge and flute by Olwell, whistles by Burke and Goldie. I have been a member for a very long time here. Thanks for reading.

Yes. and Yes. !!

I have one. You can learn on it fine
More expensive would buy you something with a faster action
and with a decent re-sale value (the Rochelle hasn't got either of these)

Tell us something.: I've been a whistle player for over 40 years now, which is a sobering thought. I got started on a battered old Generation D and, well, just never stopped really!

Current gigs are The Powderkegs border morris, the concert band Trebuchet with our music theatre show The Mill Ballads www.themillballads.com, and Welsh dance band Caffl.

Very good indeed. You won't get a better Anglo without paying a whole load more money, and the Rochelle is far better than the alternatives at a similar price range.

Thanks for the responses! I've ordered the Rochelle, and now I'm waiting (impatiently) for it to arrive.
