Bulgarian Kaval

Post by ellinopaido »

I am looking at a Kaval which I believe is made in Bulgaria

The mark on it which looks like the makers trademark is CKC

Does anyone know who the maker is? and how good quality the work is?

Thanks

Tell us something.: I'm here because I just wanted to change my location... but it turns out much more complicated than I thought. Do I already have the 100 required characters?

CKC is the signature of Spas Spasov. AFAIK he is no longer in business.
I have two instruments made by him. They are not fancy looking but perfectly okay, they are well-tuned and do everything they are supposed to do.

My first kaval was made by him, not a bad instrument, nothing spectacular though. I wouldn't pay too much for one of his, maybe $100 or so.
