Irish language television program in which Mary Bergin coaches an actor to play well enough for a public performance.

In Irish with English subtitles:

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur. (Anything is more impressive if you say it in Latin)

Is it just me, or did that video have that characteristic muted sound that comes from a windway full of spit toward the end? I know when I play my whistles cold they block up quite quickly with condensation and develop a muted tone and also a screech on large jumps.

I can only guess that this phenomenon is a million times worse in Antarctica with the added benefit that the condensation will freeze at the first opportunity turning your whistle into an icicle.

Was almost going to post one of my Youtube pieces of me playing a whistle,
but then listened to it, and thought better of it :-)
Alot of my flute stuff at
http://walthansen.zzl.org
but alas, nothing that I'm overly happy with, and nothing on a
penny whistle that's worthy of this forum.

A friend of mine and I just posted a duet video with him playing the Bodran and me playing tin whistle and ocarina.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YanPOMZ22B0

I've never performed on the tin whistle before and my first performance is on Thursday! I'm pretty excited. We're just doing a short 20 minute set, but it's going to be a blast!
I mostly play the ocarina, but I'm starting to branch out.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.
