If ever there's a...how would you call it? Umm...okay, "Courtesans' Trade Union" would be dignified...this should be their guild sign.

Hey Rod -- I grew up in the Palouse and graduated from Pullman High School. This summer a bunch of old high school classmates are getting together for "50@50" -- a 50-mile bicycle ride on a section of the Coeur d'Alene trail to celebrate that we all have either recently turned 50 or will be turning 50 this year. I'm scared about the potential for extreme heat in Idaho in July (in my memory, it's always 100 deg F for at least a solid week in July in Pullman), but the ride and the chance to reconnect with some people I've lost contact with will be fun.

Sarah

Sarah, I'm impressed. Bicycle wise, I'm usually good for a commute of four miles total in a day, not counting shopping and errands. I don't know what would happen if I tried to go 50 miles. At least its dry heat. I've lived all but three years of my life here on the Palouse. I remember only one week of humid heat. I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West when she got wet.
