Somebody's having way too much fun with Photoshop!



We were just joking the other day that you can't walk two blocks in any direction in downtown San Francisco without passing a Walgreens.

It's just weird how many of them there are in downtown San Francisco. You know how, in an airport, if you just walk a short distance in any direction, you'll find a bathroom? In the city it's like that with Walgreens.

When I was up there last week, I was laughing with Anna about all those Walgreens as we were walking up Market St. I saw a CVS across the street, pointed it out, and said "Look! Finally, a drugstore that isn't a Walgreens!" She said "er...Mom?" and pointed to the store we were just passing on our side of the street. Sure enough...another Walgreens! That's when she decided that "Alot of Walgreens" must be San Francisco's "Patron Alot."

BTW, she took an English placement test today to see if she can test out of LA 101, and she said she nearly burst out laughing because the very first sentence they were given to correct had "alot" in it!

Walgreens and CVS are gaining ground in West Virginia. I hope they wipe out Rite Aid. Years ago, Rite Aid demanded and got a big giant tax break from the State and then promptly moved their central warehouse out of state, costing many West Virginians their jobs and with nothing, less than nothing really, to show for the tax break.

I get my prescriptions at Fruth Pharmacy, a West Virginian owned family business. When their warehouse burned down, they paid all the workers their regular wages until the warehouse was rebuilt. The local Fruth Pharmacy is planning to build a new wing in my honor or at least give me my own designated parking space.
