I am looking for a suitable, maybe historic (?), stage piece of music to go with a scene about "The Great O'Neill" as portayed in Friel's Making History. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

The first to come to mind would be O'Neill's March.

The Wild Geese, or anything else associated with the flight of the earls?

Or maybe:

My understanding is "The Flight of the Wild Geese" and "The Flight of the Earls" were two different events, separated by some 80-90 years. Still, I love The Wild Geese (air). May use it depending on the tone of the reading. Thanks!

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh recorded a nice setting of the Wild Geese on Turas go Tír na nÓg.
