Hi, I'm looking for Irish musicians that reside in or around Montgomery, AL. Some of us in Auburn and Birmingham are looking into the possibly of starting up a new session there. Please comment or PM if interested.

I'm a flute/whistle player and concertina learner currently residing in Troy, Alabama! Has anything formed around the Montgomery area since this was posted? I'd love to be in the loop.

We've just started a quarterly session here in Troy. I can certainly let you know when and where the next one will be, if you're interested. I imagine it'll be toward the end of February.

Excellent! I'm currently scheduled to work that night, but if I can swap shifts I'll try to make the trip!

Fippletipper,
Coincidentally enough I was contacted this morning via Facebook through a friend of a friend. She says she lives near Troy and teaches an Irish History class. She'd contacted me asking for info on sessions close to her, because she wants to try to take her students to one. I just passed along the info from this thread to her, so hopefully something will come of that.
Send me a PM or email if you want me to put the two of you in direct contact.

I don't know if this is of any use to y'all, but I just happened to hear about these AL associations on one of Marc Gunn's podcasts (he lives in Birmingham, I believe):
