I want to get the word out about a new jam happening in the Tulsa, OK area. It isn't strictly an Irish session, but it may be of interest to some of you...
Green Country Irish, Old Tyme & Contra Music Jam
This is a group of like minded NE Oklahoma musicians with a general influence of Old Tyme, Irish & Contra Dance music and most definitely Winfield "Carp music". We seek a common place to have jams and sessions, for the betterment of Irish and Traditional instrumental music in the NE Oklahoma (Tulsa, OK) a.k.a. Green Country Oklahoma area.
The group meets at the Silver Dollar Cafe in Collinsville, OK from 6-9 pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
This group seeks to be very open to those learning the music. Playing from sheet music will be allowed and, well, maybe even encouraged if that helps with the learning process! We seek to teach and to learn, and to also provide a venue for the public to take an interest in the music.
