Irish/Scottish Trad band looking for guitarist Pittsburgh Pa

Post by kip »

Hi,

Irish/Scottish Trad band looking for guitarist Pittsburgh Pa USA

We're a Pittsburgh PA USA -based, established Irish/Scottish folk outfit seeking acoustic guitar. We play a mix of originals, traditional songs, and fast-paced tunes with fiddle, whistle, bagpipes, bodhran , bouzouki and more. Formed in 2007, one full-length CD released, currently mixing the 2nd CD and a full gig calendar.

We were a quintet w
vocals,whistle, accordian,pipes
fiddle, vocals,
12 string gtr, vocals
bouzouki, 6 string gtr , vocals
bodhran

Our main gtr player is leaving and we'd ideally like to replace him with someone who can bring in some new influences and styles, while still staying within the Celtic genre.

We are in Pittsburgh PA and play quite often. We released a CD and are mixing down the 2nd release now.
Out of town gigs would be weekends as everyone has day jobs and families. We aren't looking at making this a career, but we do love to play this music and perform for receptive audiences.

What we're looking for: a guitar player with a good ear. You don't have to be a virtuoso, and you don't have to know every Irish song ever. If you can listen, learn fast, and play well, we'll get along just fine.

If you can sing too, we'd consider it an added bonus!

Cheers,

-Kip
