Devilish Merry w LE McCullough , "Water and Vines" CD Release Party

August 26 · 8:00pm - 11:00pm
Thunderbird Cafe

4023 Butler Street
Pgh Pa 15201 USA

Water and Vines is the most recent release by long time Folk music innovators, Devilish Merry. Their distinct Roots sound is created by a musical journey reaching back to the earliest transatlantic influences in Western PA from Africa and the British Isles, to the modern sounds of folk, rock, and pop.

Images of families torn apart, contrasts between rural and urban life, and the battle to find a sense of place, creates an inte...nse longing for home in a world of dreamers and liars turned alien.

The sound of the music is crafted by the unique acoustic and electric instrumentation, and stylish performances, by Jan Hamilton-Sota, eclectic violin, Sue Powers’ lyrics, voice, and banjo murmer, Jeff Berman’s innovative dulcimer, Bob Powers’ cosmic lap steel, Kip Ruefle’s modern bodhran groove, the solid bass of Sam Matthews and L.E. McCullough’s nefarious tin whistle.

Listening to “Water and Vines” will comfort you, haunt you, and thrill you
