CD release Concert, Workshop, Session and Party for Kathleen Collins on 1/23/10 at 8:00 PM (doors open 7:30) Kathleen Collins. Iris Nevins will accompany on guitar and harp.
New Yorker Kathleen Collins was the first American-born fiddler to win a senior All-Ireland Championship, and her 1970s debut album on the Shanachie label is still regarded as one of the great solo fiddle recordings of modern times. Over the past couple of decades, Kathleen has been better known as a teacher of Irish set and ceili dancing, but she returned to the studio recently to record a long-awaited second fiddle album, "My Book of Songs".

Kathleen will also teach a class from 5:00 - 6:30. The cost is $25 directly to Kathleen, exact change appreciated. There must be a reservation for the class before 1/21. After the class there are numerous places for dinner if you wish to eat something in the area. Kathleen has a lot of great knowledge and technique to impart about the music and the fiddle, so try to make it to the class!

Admission is $20 or $15 for IAANJ members. You may mail ahead for Tickets by sending a check made out to IAANJ and a SASE to Iris Nevins, P. O. Box 429, Johnsonburg NJ, 07846. Please do not enclose workshop fees. This is payable to Kathleen in cash (exact change appreciated) at the workshop.
We anticipate a great crowd, so please reserve ahead. It also gives us a good idea of how much food to get and seating etc.
