Memorial concert with Guest Artist Frankie Gavin supported by local & visiting musicians. Music workshops on Banjo, Fiddle, Accordion and Tin Whistle. Singing traditional songs for over thirty years, she has gathered her vast repertoire from singers from the four corners of Ireland. Aoife Murray - traditional singer in Irish & English from County Cavan The afternoon will finish with the launch of ‘The Craic in the Wall’ CD by Miceal Mullen & Joseph McNulty followed by a music session with all musicians welcome to join in. Saturday Night 19th September: 9.30pm – Traditional Sessions in: White Horse Hotel, Mullen’s, Don Smith’s, Hannigan’s, Bannon’s, Fergus Donohue’s and Connolly’s with musicians from Cootehill, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Armagh and Down. See Session Page for details 9.30pm - Fíor-Céilí in St. Michael’s Hall Music provided by the Michael Duffy Céilí Band Dancing exhibition by James Greenan World Irish Dance Champion Admission 7euro Sunday 20th September 11.30am – St. Michael’s Church Mass for Deceased members of Cootehill CCE 12.30pm - Laying of Wreath at Gerry Whelan’s Grave for deceased members of Cootehill CCE with piper Patrick Martin Sunday Afternoon: 2.30pm - Marching Band Parade Winning All Ireland Marching Bands will parade with their ‘Gerald Whelan Memorial’ trophies. 4pm - Afternoon Session in Fergus Donohue’s Session with Richard Lyons and friends. All musicians welcome 7pm - Closing Session in Mullen’s Phillip Clarke and friends will perform the closing session.
