Good Irish/Scottish Pubs in Boston

Post by I Poke Badgers with Spoon »

I'll be in Boston Aug. 4-7, and I was hoping to go to a few good pubs that have music or sessions. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot.
'History is on our side.' I cannot get those words out of my head. Land of Lincoln and Franklin and Melville, I love you and wish you well. But into my heart blows a cold wind from the past; for I remember Babylon.

Most of the places here are still thriving, but call ahead.

The Green Briar has both a slow session and a regular session on Monday nights. The regular session starts around 9pm...ends whenever.

The Snug in Hingham is where I play frequently and is also on Monday nights (5:30-8:30). So you could hit both sessions in one night!

Also, there is a session in the banshee on thursday nights. I would definitely call ahead on this one. It's still very active, but can be unpredictable.

There are a bunch of sessions on the weekend, but you won't be here for them:(

Hey!! I'll be in Boston for a convention July 26th - 31st! Thanks for the tips above for places to go! I'm still trying out plan out my evenings, and it sounds like there are a few good places to choose from!

Hey!
Anyone know if the Crossroads Pub still has a Monday night Irish session?

Thesession has a listing for them, but you never know if those listings are up to date.

I emailed them but no response yet. I guess I should just call.

That session would be mighty convenient -- I'll be in Boston for one night, at a hotel nearby.
