Event to remember the late Gerry Whelan

A weekend of music sessions, singing and dancing.
Memorial concert with Guest Artist Frankie Gavin supported by local & visiting musicians.
Music workshops on Banjo, Fiddle, Accordion and Tin Whistle.
Singing & Storytelling, Pub Sessions, Open Air Sessions, Fíor Céilí,
All Ireland Marching Bands Parade

3pm - Singing / Storytelling Session in Don Smith’s
Mick Quinn – the renowned storyteller & singer from Mullaghbawn
Frances Rodgers – traditional singer from County Down. Singing traditional songs for over thirty years, she has gathered her vast repertoire from singers from the four corners of Ireland.
Aoife Murray - traditional singer in Irish & English from County Cavan
The afternoon will finish with the launch of ‘The Craic in the Wall’ CD by Miceal Mullen & Joseph McNulty followed by a music session with all musicians welcome to join in. Saturday Night 19th September:
9.30pm – Traditional Sessions in:
White Horse Hotel, Mullen’s, Don Smith’s, Hannigan’s, Bannon’s, Fergus Donohue’s and Connolly’s with musicians from Cootehill, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Armagh and Down.

Winning All Ireland Marching Bands will parade with their ‘Gerald Whelan Memorial’ trophies.

Session with Richard Lyons and friends.

Phillip Clarke and friends will perform the closing session.
