Hi,
I went To Edinburgh last july (which is a great city ! It really worths the trip).
I went few evenings in the sandy bell (Forrest Road). It seems to be a legendary place there ! small and cosy pub with session every night, filled with friendly locals. Music depends on who shows up, could be either quiet or savage...

The Royal Oak (1st infirmary street) seems an interesting place too, anyway When I was in Edinburgh There was nothing there... bad luck maybe
