New Pittsburgh Session

Post by Zoe »

There's a new session in Pittsburgh:

Murphy's Tap Room
1106 S. Braddock Avenue (Regent Square neighborhood)
Sundays, 8-10pm
Irish/Scottish session of tunes and songs
All are welcome to play, sing, learn, and listen

This is in addition to the CCE-sponsored session:
Irish Centre of Pittsburgh
1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month
7:30-10:00pm
Sessions start with more common tunes at a slow/medium pace for beginners
All musicians, dancers, and listeners are welcome
www.ccepittsburgh.org
The Irish Centre sessions are BYOB

Slan!

Change in Murphy's schedule

Post by Zoe »

Every Sunday has been getting too much for our schedules. The Murphy's session is now every 1st and 3rd Sundays (and 5th when there is one).

Is there anything going on in Pittsburgh between Dec 28 and Jan 2? I will be in town and although I grew up in Pittsburgh, I wasn't into irish music and therefore was never aware of anyone in the area... Except when my parents took me to see Makem & Clancy at the Blarney Stone.

Sessiun is Tuesday night at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle 2329 Penn Ave in the Strip District. They've got live music just about every night but sunday and monday.
