Any Irish dancing/sessions around Cedar City, Utah?

Post by Dr Funkenstein »

Hey everyone,

I'm going to be going out to Cedar City, Utah in June and was wondering if anyone knows of any Irish dancing (set dancing or ceili) or sessions around the area (including the greater Vegas area and/or other states nearby!)? My girlfriend is out there for an intership, and I'd love to be able to get her out to some set dancing or a ceili while I'm there! Thanks!

If there is anything, I'd be astonished to hear about it. I know Cedar City very well--it's near where I grew up and my brother and his family have lived there for years--I've spent many, many days there. You won't find anything even remotely ceili-like in Cedar or the surrounding area--Vegas may be your best bet, but I'm not familiar with their Irish scene. Salt Lake is four hours north.

I don't recall when the Shakespearean Festival starts (it's June or July), but if you're in Cedar then, you'd be hardpressed to find better entertainment. It's a small-town world-class festival (it won a Tony award!).
