I Hae Seen the Hielands

Post by doenerchef »

I know this is an Irish folk forum, but I couldn't find a Celtic Folk Forum or a Scottish one, so maybe you can help me regardless.

Does anyone have music sheet (piano, vocal) for this song? The English title is "I have seen the Highlands".

Hi doenerchef

You could try McGinn of the Calton the book about the composer of the song, it may be in there

The song is one of the ones in the Matt McGinn info website, but there is no sheet music only lyrics.

Thank you David.

I bought the book and while it doesn't have a full music sheet for the song, at least it has two lines, 9 bars of notation. That helps!

That is 'a full music sheet for the song' in this case... twice through for the four lines of the verse and once for the two lines of the chorus. And it's actually eight bars, not nine, because the 'first' and 'last' add up to one.
And we in dreams behold the Hebrides.

Master of nine?
