The Friel Sisters... Anna (flute, tin whistle, vocals), Sheila (uilleann pipes, flute, tin whistle, Tibetan singing bowl, vocals), and Clare (fiddle, tin whistle, mouth organ, vocals) from Glasgow with Donegal family connections came to visit family and friends here in the northeast USA. In route to family the Friel sisters stopped by to play their first ever house concert here in the USA. They played traditional tunes and sang unaccompanied vocals with absolute perfection.
One of the highlights of the evening occurred when Anna and Sheila played a tune on two flutes simultaneously, fingering each other's flute with one hand, while playing their own flute with the other hand. Yeah, its been done before, but, this was the Friel sisters.
If you haven't seen The Friel Sisters yet, ask why not and when. These young ladies are bringing it!
