Can anyone pass on the tune to Miss Grace Speirs of Elderslie's Reel, from the Mackintosh Collection?

In my imagination, I can play it like Chris Norman and David Greenberg. Almost.

Thanks. I've used IMSLP many times for classical music, but it never occurred to my to look there for trad.

Unfortunately, the collection in IMSLP is by Abraham Mackintosh. The reel I'm looking for is by Robert Mackintosh.

Good stuff Mr. Gumby. Do you know of a site where this can be found that does not require a login to use it?

My chords are a bit dodgy, but here's the tune:

Very nice, Nigel. Thank you for posting that to the Chiffboard.

Thanks, Nigel. That's the one, although when I try it, it's barely recognizable. Gotta work on those rhythms.

A lower whistle would also be in order, to do justice to the two-octave range.

It doesn't immediately strike me as a whistle tune, but you might try it in G:

Yes, thank you, that looks more manageable. I'll see how well I can do on that version.

The tune in Bb is doable on a Bb whistle, if you play it like the tune is in "D." It'd use the whole range up into the 3rd octave with the high Bbs, but it's possible.
