I had no idea it was him until after the session was over. It definitely takes the cake for most random guest at a session for me.
How cool was that ?!

edit to say two members of the German Irish Trad group Cara came to a session I was at during a festival. Was very wonderful.

Does the surprise guest have to be well known?

There is a monthly session here with invited guests, yet there are occasions when another special person shows up for the same night... everyone just sits down and shares some tunes.
