Temple Bar Tradfest 2013 advice

Hi. I am going to Dublin next week to experience the temple bar trad fest. I have been to Dublin many times, but never during the festival. Does anyone here have any experience with this festival? I am mostly interested in instrumental trad and good old fashion sessions. I see on the program that there's mainly gigs with bands.

Will there be sessions around that are not on the official program and if so any tips where to go?
Please share your information about the festival both good and bad so I know what to expect!
