Hi Folks,
Just posted some tracks from "Carrying the Tune" on my "NEW' website. www.kevincrawford.ie
Just click the audio tab at the top of the home page and play the chosen tracks.
I had the best experience musically and otherwise with John Doyle, Brian Morrissey and Mick Conneely during the making of this album.
The album is available to purchase from the website too and digital downloads will follow very soon.
I hope you enjoy the finished product.

Kev

I clicked the "Buy Now" and ended up at a blank screen, Kev... Not sure what the problem is. I was just trying to find out how much it would cost. Are you releasing it on iTunes?

Pat

My apologies guys, had no idea that some of you were experiencing problems with the "buy now" facility.

Unfortunately our website hosts are not responding at the minute with it being a weekend and the fact that they are operating on Pacific Standard Time.

However, you can override the problem simply by clicking the link below which bypasses the webpage and allows you to purchase the CD directly through PayPal.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... WDUB9Y9SJA

Thanks again for your patience, I'm hoping that the website will be fully functional in the next couple of hours.

Kev

Problem sorted !! :P
The website is back up and running without any glitches. www.kevincrawford.ie

If you want to hear sample tracks just click on the audio tab at the top of the homepage.

To purchase the actual CD click on the "buy now" button

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the malfunction.

Happy Listening !! :P

Bought and played. Love it, thanks Kevin. Reckon I'm a tiny bit in love with you. Very inspiring, I even like the slow ones, which I don't on In Good Company (not a fan of slow tunes to be honest).

I think I like track 5 the most at the moment but struggling to learn The Jointure as only have D whistles and is not on The Session.

PS Learnt First Pint and Flying Wheelchair set off of IGC for my sister who is in a wheelchair. Thanks.

Hi infernal tootler,
Really happy to hear that your enjoying ALL of "Carrying the Tune". I'm a bit like you to be honest and often skip the slower pieces too (and songs).
However, I think that if the right sentiment and emotion is conveyed within the tune and the accompaniment is spot on then these slower tunes can often end up very special.

I hope your sister liked the flying wheelchair jigs, they're still some of my favourite tunes to play. Did you learn those tunes by ear? Or did you get the ABC's from the session.org?

I'm sure someone from C&F will put the ABC's for the Jointure up very soon but if not send me a message and I can scribble them out for you. :)

Thanks again,

Kev

My sister appeared to like the tunes. I wish she'd try learning an instrument and I thought maybe she would if she heard a tune that was relevant. She hasn't. I'll play her your version next time. haha

I learnt the tunes by ear off the album. It's easier for me to do that when the tune key is the same as the whistles I've got. Carrying the Tune is harder to learn from as you've used lots of Eb flute which means I have to learn the tune in my head and then try and play without listening to the album.

That's often when I use dots. I'll keep an eye out for the Jointure, so much else to learn that I'm happy to wait.

Hope the album is going well for you. I love the slip jigs on track 2.

Transcribe! will let you adjust the pitch so you can just put -1 and get it in D. I know there are some iPhone apps ($) that do the same thing. That's what I do when I want to play in a different key.
