WTB: John Walsh "Collection of Pipe Friendly Tunes"
WTB: John Walsh "Collection of Pipe Friendly Tunes"
I was told this book is still available, yet I've tried to contact the piper's club several times and have not gotten any responses. Does anybody know where I can still get a copy (preferably the newest (2nd?) edition)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: WTB: John Walsh "Collection of Pipe Friendly Tunes"
I hope whomever answers you, answers here: many of us have the same question. When the Seattle Pipers Club (Cumann na bPíobairí) changed their website to a WordPress blog, their online store completely disappeared.
I was about to say that someone on this forum may have a 2nd-hand copy to sell, but this is a book that any piper would be loath to part with! It's by far the best tune book for our instrument. But here's hoping.
Does anybody at least know how to contact John Walsh?

I finally heard back from them. I was told emails weren't being answered over the summer, they were on vacation. This is what I was told in regards to ordering:
"The price is $28.00 plus $6.00 for shipping USPS Priority mail.
Payment can be made by check sent to the Irish Pipers Club at:
The Irish Pipers’ Club
P. O. Box 31183
Seattle, WA 98103 -1183
Or you can use PayPal which is on our website."
Hope this helps anyone else. I've had a borrowed copy and the book is fantastic for pipers.
PJ- Thanks for offering the help!

I DID finally get a copy of my own. The copy I got has a much better 'spine' or binding on it then my friend's older copy. I will PM you a couple emails that I was able to get, that writting to seemed to get the ball rolling a bit in getting my order processed.

From the old thread office...
The book is still available at the address and prices mentioned above (I just got a copy). International mailing, however, is pretty pricy at an estimated $22–$26.
The most direct contact for ordering is Phil White. <philuilleann (at) gmail (dot) com>
A fine collection of tunes, some with very interesting variants.
Best wishes.

Agreed. One of my favorite tune books; very well done.Steve Bliven wrote:A fine collection of tunes, some with very interesting variants.
But it took months of attempted communication to get a copy. Oh well - it's an all-volunteer organization I suspect and they must have real jobs and families and etc. just like the rest of us.

Re: WTB: John Walsh "Collection of Pipe Friendly Tunes"
The reason I revived this thread was to let folks know of my rather different experience. I first became aware of the existence of the book at a music weekend on May 7–8 (I play the flute and we're clearly slower than pipers). I googled about looking for a source, found this thread, sent a note to Mr. Creegan who referred me to Mr. White who responded promptly with cost, order information, etc. I paid via PayPal on the Club web page and had the book in my hands within 5 days of first discovery.
Very fast service, so if there were issues in the past, it seems that things are working fine now. My experience has been good book, good service, happy camper.
Best wishes.

Wow! That is fast. I tried to figure out the Paypal but couldn't and only saw joining membership. I opted for snail mail with a personal check so it will take forever. Looking forward to the collection of tunes though.Steve Bliven wrote:Four days from my PayPal payment.
